1. Profile
The
Electromagnetic Waves division covers the metrology standards for
electromagnetic waves ranging from lower than 1MHz up to higher than 100GHzin
frequency. We have developed and been keeping many kinds of standards. Some of
them are developed by the original technology and others are prepared to be
traceable to those of other national metrology Institutes. They are
disseminated through calibration services in the JCSS (Japan Calibration
Service System) scheme and NMIJ Calibration and Testing Services. Our activity
includes technical development of new metrology standards and expanding the
range of prepared standards, as well as verifying their equivalence by
participating in international key comparisons led by CIPM and APMP.
The division started as a part of the NMIJ in 2001, when the NMIJ was established as national standards institute in the fundamental reorganization of the AIST. The division consists of two sections for metrology standards on electromagnetic wave. To be used by many technical engineers in industry, the technology obtained by our R&D for developing national metrology standards is offered in the NMIJ club activities of Radio-wave and EM field clubs. The detail will be seen in the homepages of these clubs linked from the page of each section.
2. Organization
The
Electromagnetic Waves Division of NMIJ is composed of two sections.
